High-Density Powders for
Extreme Applications

Tungsten powder is renowned for its exceptional density and hardness. The high melting point and spherical morphology of our pure tungsten powder are ideal for additive manufacturing and thermal spraying for demanding application in extreme environments.

Spherical Tungsten Powder ≥99.95%

Our spherical tungsten powders are designed for maximum density, thermal conductivity and wear resistance. With excellent flowability due to their spherical morphology, these powders are well suited for additive manufacturing, metal injection moulding (MIM), and thermal spray applications.

Our high-purity, gas atomised spherical tungsten powders have a high purity ≥99.95%. These powders are ideal for high-performance coating applications and advanced manufacturing, including:

  • Nuclear fusion – plasma-facing heat & radiation shields.
  • Space & aerospace – rocket nozzles, jet engine components.
  • Medical – radiation shielding, beam shaping.
  • Electronics – switches, relays, and other electrical contacts.
  • Alloy development

Applications of Spherical Tungsten Powder

Our powders are trusted in advanced industries and high-performance applications. Common uses include:

Thermal Spraying

Thermal spray, such as High Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF) and plasma spraying, are commonly used hardfacing technique for tungsten powders. Hard-facing coating is high density, low oxide content and excellent bond strength to the substrate.

Additive Manufacturing

AM is a process by which a 3D part is formed from the successive addition of 2D layers of powder selectively fused together, using laser or electron beam, in pre-defined geometries. No tooling is required making AM a very versatile process.

Metal Injection Moulding

MIM is a commonly used technology for mass production of high-value tungsten components. Powder is compressed into a mould of predefined geometry by applying high temperature and pressure simultaneously.
